Hundreds of thousands of optical sights by ELCAN are deployed with elite fighting forces around the world as their standard issue sight for small arms.
Raytheon ELCAN is proud to provide advanced optical systems for a variety of military applications including missile guidance, airborne sensors and targeting, tactical imaging systems, man-portable sighting systems and rifle sights. Specter™ sights by ELCAN have been developed and tested in close cooperation with North American and European allied forces and have been battle-proven to perform flawlessly under the harshest battlefield conditions.
As with commercial applications, Raytheon ELCAN branded sighting systems are high-end, precision optical systems. Early renditions were therefore targeted only for Special Forces as they tend to be the early exploiters of emerging technology (i.e. SpecterDR 1-4x has been designated as SU-230A/PVS by USSOCOM.)
Cost-effective manufacturing methods in conjunction with customer-centric development programs have produced lighter, lower cost branded products without any compromise to quality or operational effectiveness as evidenced by the Specter™OS4x being adopted as the FIST LDS for the UK MoD Soldier Modernization Program.
